Introduction to CNC – Session 2

Description:
In the first session, we covered the basics of using a CNC router, with an emphasis on computer aided design using the Vcarve Pro software. We discussed the types of projects you may do on the CNC and you worked on designing your first piece of work for the CNC.
In this second session, we will discuss how to safely use the CNC and operational procedures. We will then take turns on the CNC, allowing you to produce your piece. As time allows you will then sand and finish your piece. If there is not enough time, you can do the finishing work on your own time.
IMPORTANT: We will be working in the CNC Room and the CNC’s spindle is very loud. GOOD EAR PROTECTION IS MANDATORY. You should have your own, but disposable foam ear plugs are available at the Shed.
You will have a 1-hour break for lunch.
